Eighteen agri-food companies from the province of Córdoba will attend, under the umbrella of the «Sabor a Córdoba» brand, the Auténtica Premium Food fair, held in Sevilla on 14 and 15 September. The brand is promoted by the Instituto Provincial de Desarrollo Económico (Iprodeco), part of the Diputación de Córdoba.

The participating companies are Almazaras de la Subbética (Carcabuey), Alvear (Montilla), Vinos Francisco Arrabal (Montilla), Belloterra Delicatessen (Añora), Bodega Vega Natun (Córdoba), Bodegas Toro Albalá (Aguilar de la Frontera), Isidro Castillejo SL (La Granjuela), Cortijo de Suerte Alta SL (Baena), Mielinízate (Villa del Río), Membrillo El Quijote (Puente Genil), Patatas Fritas Maribel (Moriles), Patatas Raquel Food (Cañete de las Torres), Pérez Barquero (Montilla), Quiviroliva, Rodríguez Chiachio SL (Cabra), Setacor Micología (Villafranca de Córdoba), Sociedad Cooperativa Virgen de la Torre (La Victoria) and Sucesores Hermanos López (Luque).

According to the delegate for Economic Development, Promotion and Employment of the Diputación, Félix Romero, the fair brings together executives and professionals from large-scale distribution, retail trade, the hospitality and catering channel (Horeca), fine dining and the agri-food industry. Romero, who also chairs Iprodeco, points out that the event will gather twelve thousand professionals and three hundred twenty-one exhibiting firms in a space of fifteen thousand square meters, as well as two hundred sixty-seven experts who will take part in six stages with more than two hundred conferences, talks and tastings.

The delegate adds that the fair will also be attended by international operators from countries such as United Arab Emirates, United States, Canada, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, South Korea, India, Philippines and Thailand.

New products

Some of the Córdoba companies will use the event to present novelties. According to Romero, Bodega Vega Natun will showcase its premium bitter orange vinegar sourced from the patio de los naranjos of the Mezquita-Catedral. Bodegas Francisco Arrabal will present two new products: Ocaso, a wine made with its own oxygenative process, and Pa' Dentro, a wine-based flavored drink. Bodegas Pérez Barquero, for its part, will present G1 Brut Nature, a sparkling wine developed together with the Universidad de Córdoba.

Romero states that participation in fairs seeks to generate business opportunities and contacts that translate into jobs for the towns of the province, and maintains that the goal of «Sabor a Córdoba» at this event is to move forward in effective purchasing of the products, beyond simply becoming known.
