Córdoba CF has closed the summer transfer window with eighteen signings ahead of the 2026/2027 season, as explained by the club's CEO, Antonio Fernández Monterrubio, at an informative breakfast with journalists also attended by Juan Gutiérrez «Juanito» and Raúl Cámara, heads of the Sporting Committee.

The new players are Guilherme, Egoitz, Budesca, Juan Gutiérrez, Tasende, Nelson Monte, Diarra, Eder, Adnane, El Jebari, Enol, Víctor Sánchez, Ibai, Damián Cáceres, Thèo Zidane, Diego Bri, Jacobo Martí and Unai Sabroso. Six of them arrive on loan. Juanito has pointed out that the club would have preferred to include purchase options in those loans, but that the origin clubs did not allow it since they are hard-to-access players.

The resulting squad will have an average age of 25.7 years, placing it among the six youngest in LaLiga Hypermotion, according to the club.

Salary cap and capital increase

Fernández Monterrubio has explained that the squad cost limit for this season will be around 11.1 million euros, one million more than the previous season. He has also clarified that the capital increase carried out three years ago, of 2.2 million euros, which until now was added to that salary cap, cannot be counted this time. Therefore, according to the CEO, the sales of some players, including that of Adri Fuentes, have served to compensate for that reduction in economic margin.

Regarding the approach to the market, Fernández Monterrubio has stated: «We haven't made a market to spend, but to build, and we will pay it back with results». According to the executive, the intention has been to maintain a young squad and a working method that, in his view, has worked, without compromising the club's financial situation through eye-catching signings.

The CEO has pointed out that the club's ownership aims to reach Primera División and that, to do so, it considers it necessary to also grow in other areas, with the stated goal of building a sustainable club capable of generating its own resources.

Regarding the Ciudad Deportiva, Fernández Monterrubio has placed the project in the medium term, noting that first the location and the way to finance it with external resources must be defined, so that it does not affect the club's accounts.

Finally, he has thanked the fans for their support, recalling that the club has 17,500 season ticket holders, a figure he has highlighted as higher than that of some Primera División teams, and has expressed the intention to change the fans' perception through sporting results.
