The Santuario de la Fuensanta hosted this morning the Solemne Eucaristía for the Festividad de Nuestra Señora de la Fuensanta, patron saint of Córdoba and its municipal corporations. The celebration was presided over by the bishop of the Diócesis, monseñor Jesús Fernández González, and concelebrated by the members of the Cabildo Catedral together with the diocesan clergy.

The mass took place before the procesional float of the Virgen, which the previous afternoon had traveled the route from the Mezquita-Catedral to the Santuario. According to the note sent by the Cabildo de la Mezquita-Catedral, the nave was full of faithful, with representatives of public institutions and members of the Agrupación de Hermandades y Cofradías among those attending.

In his homily, the bishop referred to the spiritual and communal roots of the festivity for the whole of the cordobesa citizenry. He also invited everyone to entrust the new social and pastoral year to the Virgen, whom he described as a source of consolation, unity and hope for families and the most vulnerable groups.

During today's day the Solemne Novena in honor of the patron saint has also begun, which will continue until 16 de septiembre at the Santuario de la Fuensanta.
